How can the repetition of a minimal mark make the time of the body visible and generate unpredictable organic forms?
This series of drawings originates from a minimal and repeated gesture: an elementary mark that accumulates over time until it generates branching, stratified and rhizomatic structures. Each drawing develops through a relationship between intention and loss of control, between the rhythm of the body and the gradual transformation of the surface.
The process does not begin from a predetermined image. The form slowly emerges through the repetition of the gesture, the variations of attention, the interruptions, mistakes and deviations that occur during the act of drawing. In this sense, the drawing is not only a final image, but the visible trace of a duration.
Repetition becomes a form of listening: to the body, to time, to the paper and to the internal possibilities of the mark. Through the accumulation of minimal elements, the drawings construct unstable visual organisms, where micro-variations and almost imperceptible differences generate complex forms.
These works are the foundation for many of my later participatory practices. The repeated mark, initially developed as an individual gesture, gradually becomes a method for thinking about the relationship between body, time, surface and collective growth.
